Providing School Supplies to Affected Children in Kalutara District

I-FREED was informed by the Udugama Sumangala Foundation (USF) in Sri Lanka that several thousand children need basic school supplies to start the new school year. Most of these children were left with nothing and need school supplies to begin classes. I-FREED has released US$ 4,150 for this effort.


Update : 01/13/2005 CST
This morning (January 13, 2005) a check for Rs. 500,000 was handed over to the Director, National Institute of Health Sciences, Kalutara, for the purchase of school uniforms, school bags and other essential items for 500 affected children in the coastal belt from Aluthgama to Kalutara.

Update : 02/11/2005 CST
School supplies were handed over to 500 tsunami affected children on January 26, 2005.
I-FREED received the Financial Statement for the project, from the Director of the Udugama Sumangala Foundation.
