Posted Date : 01/08/2005 CST Several families in the South East suburb of Houston (Clear Lake), organized a fund raising event at Kroger Stores. The Kroger stores at El Camino Real, El Dorado, FM518 & Bay Area Blvd and FM518 & FM 2351 participated in the fund raising event. The families requested Kroger customers to donate for this worthy cause. The drive was a resounding success with people from all walks of life contributing generously to help the tsunami victims. Some of the customers signed up to volunteer their time to raise donations for the victims in Sri Lanka. The children participated in the fund raising drive with great enthusiasm and did a marvelous job in requesting donations with some creative posters and slogans. The Houston Sri Lankan-American community and the people of Sri Lanka wish to extend our sincere gratitude to Kroger Stores and its customers for their generosity in helping the tsunami victims in Sri Lanka.
